A Message From Jaylyn Heames

The Village where I was born and still live today has 294 residents. My neighbors were best friends with my grandparents, and every sporting event I attend for my child is like a class reunion for my parents.  There is something charming about living in a rural, sparsely populated area where everyone chips in to make the whole system work. When there is one neighbor down, there are 293 that step up.  The small-town standards, work ethic, and sense of community led me to become involved in community services over ten years ago, and those same sentiments can be seen in each member of the Snow Belt team, which is why I am honored to lead them.

Snow Belt aims to ensure that all residents of Lewis County have access to a safe place to sleep at night. We do our part to participate in community revitalization activities that support rural initiatives. Property Management, Construction Rehabilitation, and Homeless Prevention may be the tasks we perform as neighbors. Still, we are only one member of an entire community team that makes the whole system work. Join us in strengthening our community’s bond by volunteering, contributing, or spreading the word because together, we can ensure every neighbor in Lewis County has a safe place to call home.
