Snow Belt Flood Repair Program
NYS Resilient & Ready Home Repair Program
The NYS Resilient & Ready Home Repair Program (Snow Belt Flood Rehabilitation Program) addresses the damages sustained to homes due to storm events that occurred in July, 2024, in Lewis County. Homeowners can apply for reimbursement of costs incurred to their primary home, which were not covered by the homeowner’s insurance, or they can apply to get work done for damages incurred. The homeowner must furnish the document list at the end of the Handbook (to include Proof of Ownership of the Damaged Property and Proof of Income) to receive assistance. “The deadline to receive documents from homeowners is, Monday, November 25th.” Applications will not be accepted after this date.
Program funds shall be used for direct disaster-caused damage to the primary residence and are not covered by any other federal, state, or local recovery program funds or third-party insurers.
Qualified households are at or below 150% of the Area Median Income.
Please download, fill out and return the complete packet (Application and Required Documents) on or before November 8, 2024 by mail, drop off in our secure lockbox at the office or by email information@snowbelt.org.
Local Flood Damage Assistance
Local Flood Damage Assistance is available to Lewis County residents. This grant funding is made possible by the Northern New York Community Foundation, in partnership with the Dyson Foundation. Lewis County residents can download and complete the Local Flood Damage Assistance Application and email the form to information@snowbelt.org or mail it to our main office location. Assistance will be available to residents who suffered a loss due to the severe weather events this summer (2024) and are not eligible for any other funding. Applications can be submitted until the October 31, 2024 deadline. Please note, the amount of funding available per household will be dependent on the number of eligible applicants.
